How much ISA allowance have I used?

Bring subscriptions across providers into one estimate, separate genuine ISA transfers and treat flexible withdrawals cautiously.

Reconcile the tax year

Count new subscriptions, not account balances.

The £20,000 limit applies across your adult ISAs. A growing balance does not show how much allowance you have used, and a formal ISA transfer is not a fresh subscription.

  1. Add new money paid into every adult ISA since 6 April 2026.
  2. Keep formal provider-to-provider ISA transfers separate.
  3. Only adjust for withdrawals when your provider confirms the ISA is flexible and the amount is replaceable.

Why the result can differ from cash flow

Transfers and withdrawals need classification.

For 2026/27, the overall adult ISA subscription limit is £20,000 and the Lifetime ISA limit is £4,000 within it. Unused allowance cannot be carried forward.

A transfer completed through the receiving provider can move existing ISA savings without becoming a new subscription. If you withdraw the money yourself and then pay it into another ISA, that payment may use allowance.

Non-flexible ISA withdrawals do not reduce the amount already subscribed. A flexible ISA can permit replacement without using more allowance, but the provider's terms, the source of the withdrawn funds and where replacement is made all matter.

What connected planning could add

Less re-entry.
More confirmation.

A future connection could identify likely subscriptions and transfers, but it would still need you to confirm ambiguous transactions. The live demo shows that reconciliation step using fictional providers and data.
